Pricing for Custom Parts
The pricing for Replacement parts is broken into two parts:
- Modeling and Design costs
- 3D Printing and Finishing costs
Modeling and Design Costs
The cost for designing and modeling your item is essentially based on the time it takes our expert 3D modelers to create your item in 3D digital space on the computer using the most sophisticated 3D modeling programs available.
There is a minimum $30 Modeling charge.
Below are a few examples of parts and how much the modeling charge is for each item based on its complexity.

These examples are only to give you an idea of the modeling charges for a variety of parts with varying complexity.
High-resolution 3D Printing and Finishing Costs
Since each part we make for you is custom and thus unique, there is no way to be able to give you set pricing for the 3D Printing and Finishing of your part.
However, that said, the majority portion of the production cost of your part is based on the cost to 3D Print the part. This cost is essentially directly proportional to the size of the part and volume of material used. Since this is the case, a hollow part will cost significantly less than a solid part, provided the geometry of the model and constraints of the material allow this. See Example 1 below and note the price difference between the Solid and Hollow versions of the 53mm knob.
In some cases, where you have a part too flat to make hollow, material costs can be saved by thinning or hollowing out the center of the part as in Example 2. Examples 3 and 4 are instances where saving on material volume is not possible due to the part consisting of thin flat surfaces.

A note on Materials: Before looking at the examples below, you may want to review our Replacement Part Materials page to get an idea of the properties, variations and options for each of the materials listed in each example below.
Example 1: Drawer Pull/Knob
In this example we have a basic curved shape and we have given the total production prices for each part in each material listed:
